UOSA Launcher

We are releasing our first version of the UOSA Launcher. This will ultimately replace our installer in the next version. It keeps our client files automatically up to date.

ClassicUOSA

ClassicUOSA was released last year in a beta version. It is a stripped-down version of ClassicUO, removing many unfair and mechanic-breaking features such as grid loot. The classic chest opening login screen was introduced then as well.

With today's version 1.0 release we have the following additions, many of which are quality-of-life improvements extending ClassicUO's aim to make the UO experience fit better on higher resolutions, as well as some fixes and additions to better match the original client of 1999:

  • Graphics engine additions:

    • Texture Filter: Choose between Point Clamp (sharp pixels, default CUO rendering, no changes), Linear Clamp (smoothed/blurred when scaled), or Smart (smooth when zoomed out, sharp when zoomed in).

    • Smooth Pixel Rendering: Upscales pixel art with edge smoothing for a cleaner look; automatically disables the texture filter.

  • Integer zoom scaling — When enabled, zoom snaps to exact integer multiples (1×, 2×, 3×, 4×) so every game pixel maps more cleanly to the screen with no sub-pixel blurring.

  • Zoom values displayed in the options gump have been flipped to be more intuitive.

  • Zoom value in options gump now updates live with scroll zooming.

  • Added shaded fonts, a somewhat hidden and forgotten feature of the old client in era: UO T2A Patch Notes 06/28/1999.

  • Added ability to increase font size. This doesn't look great outside of 100% and 200% font sizes.

  • Improved item highlighting and grabbing to match the original client's behaviour (no more raging at trying to pick up spider's silk). This can be disabled under Options > Experimental Features.

  • Added "fade objects out of range" option. Behaves similarly to CUO's "no color for objects out of range" but is far less abrupt.

  • Updated the options gump graphics to better match the original client's.

  • Included now are a set of world map markers created by Hans with special thanks to: RGN, Pappas, Hydroxide.

  • Fixed a bug with the chest login screen where the chest could be seen as open as another one was opening on a second log in.

  • Fixed "remember password" not functioning.

UOSA Assist

  • A fork of Razor branded as UOSA Assist version 1.0.

  • Egregious mechanically inaccurate features have been removed, such as scripting.

  • Fixed a bug where corrupted profiles would prevent the plugin from loading in ClassicUOSA. It now displays an error and continues loading.
